A busy few days

A busier week with a number of indoor performances to tell you about. On Wednesday evening Lincoln Campbell did a couple of 60 metres races at Crystal Palace in times of 7.81 and 7.77 seconds. (His best this winter has been 7.64 seconds.) Then on Thursday evening Abby Beswick and Lois Drummie went to the Horsham indoor event. Abby did 3 races over 50 metres (without hurdles in the way) and had a best time of 7.1 seconds. She also did 3 hurdles races with a best time an impressive 7.8 seconds. Lois Drummie ran in all three of Abby’s hurdles races and came away with a best of 8.3 seconds.

Then on Saturday Lois went to Lee Valley and she recorded 9.50 seconds in both of her 60 metres hurdles races. She also did the triple jump and did well with a best of 10.23 metres.

For those of you thinking of entering the Sussex (or Surrey) Indoor Championships over the weekend of February 15th and 16th a reminder that entries have to be in by this coming Saturday February 8th. Speak to Lester Medcalf if you need to know more.

A reminder that this week the Tuesday circuits group will meet in Imberhorne School’s new Sports Hall with an 8 o’clock start rather than the usual 7.30 start. Back to the normal gym at 7.30 after this week.

And a last reminder – that this coming Sunday sees a Sportshall match at Tanbridge House school in Horsham.

What’s happening this week ?

TUESDAY FEBRUARY 4th – circuits session at Imberhorne’s Sports Hall from 8 to 9.

THURSDAY FEBRUARY 6th – training for all at Imberhorne School from 7.

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 8th – long and triple jump training for invited athletes at Imberhorne from 10 to 11.30.

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 9th – training at East Court from 10.30 to about 11.45.

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 9th – Sportshall at Tanbridge House School.
