Some more results from indoor competitions

We have more results from a number of Open Meetings held recently. Earlier in February Cat Shin triple-jumped 10.89 metres in an inter university match at Lee Valley while over this last weekend she jumped 10.83 metres in the British University Championships in Sheffield – unfortunately it wasn’t quite good enough to get her into the final.

Over the same weekend as the Sussex and Surrey Indoor Championships Wayne Gadd was taking part in the British Masters Combined Events Championships for over 40s at Lee Valley. He started with the 60 metres hurdles and a time of 9.27 seconds before long-jumping 5.46 metres. A shot putt of 9.30 metres and a high jump of 1.66 metres left just the 1000 metres to complete a busy day. And a good run of 3 minutes 4.29 seconds helped Wayne to score a total of 3161 points for second place – just 20 points behind the first placed athlete. So well done to Wayne.

After her very successful weekend at Sutton last week Abby Beswick kept up her excellent winter’s work with a series of wins in last Thursday’s Horsham races. Three wins in the 50 metres hurdles, all timed at 7.8 seconds, and 3 wins in the 50 metres sprint with 2 of them at 7.1 seconds.

And to complete this round-up we had Lincoln Campbell finding some races at Newham on February 16th – two 60 metres sprints with times of 7.66 and 7.68 seconds.
