It must be the autumn – 10k race and training re-starting

Sunday’s 10k race

We had great weather for yesterday’s Andy Ripley 10k race with some 350 runners completing the course. Thanks to all the helpers for their work, and especially those who got up at 5.30 in the morning to start getting everything ready.

Ewan Dallas had an excellent run, finishing 7th overall but first in the under 20 category, with Tom Dean not far behind. I also saw Tara Deeley, Lee Clark and Eddie Vermeer go past me at my marshalling post half a mile from the finish.

Training re-starts this week

A reminder that there we re-start training at Imberhorne Upper School this coming Thursday October 1. Those in school years 6, 7 and 8 will start promptly at 7pm – and this means arriving by 6.50 or so. Older athletes should aim to arrive by 7.30 in order to warm-up so that their session can start at 8 o’clock.

And then on Sunday October 4 we are back at East Court for the Sunday morning sessions. 10.30 to 11.45 – athletes should aim to arrive by 10.20 so that we can make a prompt start at 11.30. There is no charge for Sunday sessions. (There will be no Sunday morning training on October 11 as we will be getting ready for the schools cross-country races.)
