Not much to report (but now updated with cross-country results)

Saturday’s cross-country at Goodwood

We had a reasonable turn-out for the first cross-country league match of the season at Goodwood, although the vets team were the only team with a full complement of three athletes. It would be good to see a few more athletes for the remaining matches.

The best individual performance came from Callum Stone who was an excellent third in the under 13 boys race, with Cameron Wells finishing further back. The under 13 girls race saw Erin Harnett and Antonia Deeley finishing seconds apart in the middle of the field.

Katie Wheeler (under 15) and Tara Deeley (under 17) found things hard in their girls races – and it was a very pleasant surprise to see Liam Rieley running in the under 17 boys race.

The three veterans were Lee Clark, Tony Crossley and Graham Taylor and they all completed the course, although some distance behind the leading runners.

The next meeting is on Saturday 21 November at Little Common in Bexhill.
