The Summer season starts on Saturday April 16

On Your Marks, Get Set and it’s nearly time to go

The 2016 summer season is nearly ready to start. The senior mens and ladies team have the first match of the season on this coming Saturday April 16. We travel down to Eastbourne for a match against South London Harriers, Thanet AC, Medway Park Phoenix as well as the host club Eastbourne. Let’s hope the weather is OK for this match and that we see a good start to the season.

With this match in mind I need to remind you that it is now

Annual membership renewal time

Your membership fees should have been paid by 1 April. If you haven’t yet paid please do so in the next week or so. Fees for the new season are:

Family membership is also available.

These amounts include the payment to register you with the governing body for athletics in the UK. Please note that, under new rules set by the UK governing body, you will not be allowed to compete until you pay your annual subscription.

Easter holiday training sessions

We were sorry that we had to cancel last Wednesday’s training session for under 13s – school years 6 and 7 – but the rain and cool wind were rather against us.

Wednesday April 13 – Committee meeting. Venue and start time to be confirmed.

Thursday April 14 – training for all at Imberhorne.

Saturday April 16 – match for senior men and senior ladies at Eastbourne. First event mid-day.

Saturday April 16 – long/triple jump sessions have now stopped. Occasional sessions may be arranged over the summer.

Saturday April 16 – No Academy training this week.
