Indoor Champs entry deadline coming up plus Cross-Country next weekend

Sussex Indoor Championships

If you are thinking of competing in the Sussex Indoor Championships – to be held on February 18th and 19th – then a reminder that the entries have to be made by this coming Friday February 10th.

Sussex Cross-Country League at Hickstead

The fourth and last Sussex cross-country league match takes place this coming Saturday February 11th at Hickstead. Here’s hoping that Ethan Scott can complete a clean sweep with 4 wins in the under 13 age-group.

All-Sussex Primary Schools Cross-Country Championships

Following our own East Grinstead races in October at East Court and then the Mid-Sussex races in January – again at East Court – the all-Sussex finals are being held this coming Saturday at Hickstead along with the Sussex Cross-Country league match mentioned above. We will have a few of our primary school athletes taking part and we wish them well.

Track and field officials’ course on March 12th

There will be a course in Haywards Heath on March 12th aimed at those of you who would like to help to judge track and field events. The course will give an introduction to what you will need to do and will form a good basis for future judging. It is important that we have some of our parents going on this course as we have to provide officials for all of our track and field league matches. No judges means no athletics.

If you are interested in attending this course then please contact Lester Medcalf – (01342) 315589 or by e-mail at
