A hot and busy weekend
We had a busy weekend with those of us who were judging the field events getting plenty of work in the hot sunshine !
The senior team at Twickenham on Saturday were again very short of athletes and finished some way behind 2 of our opponents. However both James Pringle and Harry English benefitted very much from running against some very fast sprinters to record some excellent pbs. Out in the field Daniel Rusling brought home 3 pbs in the high, long and triple jumps. Sarah Killick-Bird and Sarah Rusling did their usual round of events for the ladies and it was good to have Lois Drummie back in action.
Sunday saw the under 13 Sussex championships in Brighton and we had a successful day. Gold medals from Maddie Sims as she ran away from the rest of the field in the 800 metres and from Leo Low Foon in the long jump with 4.84 metres. And both of these athletes added a bronze medal with Maddie in the high jump and Leo in the javelin. Also in the throws Maddie Gettins in the javelin and Ella Kessell in the shot both won bronze medals. Well done to them and to everyone who competed on the day.
