A second place for the under 15s team on Friday evening

Friday evening match for under 15s

A busy Friday evening at Horsham with Isaac Lancaster competing in the pole vault for the first time while older brother Joe threw the hammer for the first time – well done to both of them.

We’ve just had the provisional results and they show that we came second behind Crawley and that we beat Horsham by just 2 points. A great result and it shows the value of having athletes in more or less every event – even if you’re not very happy at doing some of the events you’re asked to do.

A busier weekend ahead

While last weekend was a quiet one we are back to a busy weekend with competitions on both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday the senior team compete at St Marys University – these days called the Sir Mo Farah Track – while on Sunday the Sussex Under 13 and under 11 quadkids championships take place at the Withdean Stadium in Brighton.

What’s happening next week ?

Tuesday 4 July – training at Sackville School track for all athletes from 7 to 8.15.

Thursday 6 July – training at Imberhorne from 7 to 8.30.

Saturday 8 July – match for senior athletes (including those in school years 10 and above) at Twickenham.

Saturday 8 July – no Academy training this week.

Sunday 9 July – Sussex under 13 and under 11 quadkids championships at Brighton.
