Things are beginning to get busy again

Did I feel a touch of summer this morning at East Court ?

I know that the weather is due to turn colder during the coming week but I’m sure I felt a touch of summer warmth at our East Court training session on Sunday morning – I had to take my winter club jacket off at one stage as I was getting too warm.

Sussex (and Surrey) Indoor Championships on February 17 and 18

The indoor county championships take place in mid February and you can enter on-line now. Go to the Sussex AAA website for the details. We know that indoors doesn’t appeal to everyone – and in particular the middle and longer distance runners – but sprinters and jumpers should seriously think of entering.

Primary Schools cross-country races on Wednesday January 17

The Mid-Sussex primary schools cross-country races take place this Wednesday at East Court. A number of our younger members will be representing East Grinstead in these races, while a number of our older members will be helping with the running of the races – and in particular setting up the course.

The races are at 1.30 for girls and 2.00 for boys. The successful athletes in these races will then go on to represent Mid-Sussex in the all Sussex finals later in the winter. If you haven’t got anything else to do at Wednesday lunchtime then take yourself down to cheer on the athletes.

On the same day the Sussex Secondary Schools cross-country championships for school years 8 and above will take place in Brighton. We will have a few of our members taking part.
