Hope to see you at Wednesday’s AGM and Friday’s Annual Awards Evening

Busy week ahead

This week we will be holding our Annual General Meeting as well as our awards evening – the AGM on Wednesday March 21 at Imberhorne School and then the Awards and social evening on Friday March 23 at East Grinstead Town Football Club. It would be great to see lots of you there – and especially at the awards evening when all of last year’s under 13 and under 15 athletes will get a certificate showing their best performances in 2017.

Membership Fees now due

A reminder that it’s time to pay your membership fees. They have to be paid by the end of March – but the earlier they are paid the better. If you aren’t sure how much your fees are then the recent newsletter will have told you.

Last Saturday’s Open Meeting at K2 cancelled

That horrible cold wind and the associated snow meant that Crawley’s Open Meeting last Saturday had to be cancelled. We also had to cancel our Sunday morning training at East Court. Let’s hope it all improves for Tuesday and Thursday evening training at Imberhorne.

Our British Masters Champion

I have forgotten to tell you that a few weeks ago Phil Spivey was the British Over 55 Winter Champion in the throwing the weight competition at Lee Valley. He threw the 11.34k weight a distance of 17.13 metres. Very well done to Phil. (I don’t know if it was indoor or outdoor, though I suspect it was outdoor.)
