More matches at the end of the coming week

Sussex School Championships on Saturday June 9

I don’t have full details as yet and will give more details when I can. As far as I know Cameron Wells was our only athlete to reach the entry standard for the English Schools Championships to be held later in the summer – a pb of 3.05 metres in the junior boys pole vault. I have to add some caution – obtaining the entry standard does not necessarily mean that an athlete will be selected for the English Schools champs. Sussex can take up to 60 athletes – and if there are more than 60 athletes with entry standards they can’t all go.

Matches coming up

On the evening of THURSDAY JUNE 14 our under 13 athletes (school years 6 and 7) will compete in the second midweek league match of the summer at Horsham. Suzie Shelley is the team manager and has been contacting all of our under 13 athletes. There will be no training that evening at Imberhorne for under 13 athletes.

Then on SUNDAY JUNE 17 our under 13 and under 15 athletes will be travelling by coach for their match at Woodford in Essex. We were very disappointed at the number of athletes who came to the previous match in Walthamstow and we hope for more athletes (and their parents) to come to this match.
