Match on Saturday April 27
Our youngest athletes – school years 6, 7, 8 and 9 – went to Ashford last Saturday for their first match of the season. We didn’t have as many athletes as we would have liked and finished 5th of the 7 teams taking part. As always the athletes that did go to the match did their very best in their various events and we thank them for their effort.
I don’t have the full results but I do know that under 13 Gabi Holland came home with three first places – no surprise that one of them was in the 800 metres – but the hurdles and the javelin first places were unexpected. And Chloe Grantham, now a first year under 15, also produced a first place in her javelin with just over 22 metres – Emma Smyth made it a double first in winning the B string javelin with over 20 metres.
I’ll bring you a bit more detail when I’ve seen the full results.
A reminder that we have recently changed our training sessions for the summer

These new Tuesday and Thursday sessions will continue for the rest of the summer.
