Last throw of the summer

Last throw of the summer and a new club record for the ladies discus

A couple of weeks ago in one of the last open meetings of the summer at Tooting Bec Rebekah Tyler became our first female discus thrower to throw over 30 metres when she threw the 1k discus 30.07 metres. The previous best was Sarah Butler’s 29.81 metres in 2002 at the Parliament Hill track in North London when she was an under 20. Rebekah’s throw was her last as an under 17 athlete – the previous best by an under 17 athlete was Chloe Hollamby’s 27.37 metres in 2013.

Schools Cross-Country Races

The wet weather last week meant we had to re-think the course for the schools races on Sunday at East Court with the races just using the top field. Fortunately the weather improved during the afternoon when the races took place. A big thanks to all of our helpers for making it another great day. Full results will appear on the website in due course.
