Presentation Evening last Friday at East Grinstead Rugby Club
We had a great time last Friday at the rugby club for our 2019 presentation evening. Lots of parents and lots of athletes – though it would be great to see even more athletes with us.
Most of our trophy winners were able to come and here’s a list of the athletes who won our various cups and trophies.
Fastest ladies 800 metres across all age-groups – Gabi Holland
Fastest ladies 1500 metres across all age-groups – Gabi Holland again
Fastest ladies 100 metres across all age-groups – Rebekah Tyler
Longest ladies long jump across all age-groups – Rebekah Tyler
Fastest mens 1500 metres across all age-groups – Josh Hobbs
Fastest mens 100 metres across all age-groups – Scott Clark
Longest mens long jump across all age-groups – Dorian Szatmari
Fastest mens 1500 metres by athletes over 35 – Phil Rogers
Endeavour trophy for under 13 boys and girls – Sarah Tyler
Throws trophy for young boys and girls – Ella Kessell
Throws trophy for older men and ladies – Matti Fish
Hurdles trophy for young boys and girls – Alannah McAllister
High Jump trophy for young boys and girls – Albert Holroyd
Female athlete of the year – Rebekah Tyler
Male athlete of the year – Cameron Wells
Club person of the year – Amelia Barton
And we had new trophies this year for some of our younger athletes.
Under 13 girl athlete of the year – Sarah Tyler
Under 13 boy athlete of the year – Harry Rogers
Under 15 girl athlete of the year – Rachel Tyler
Under 15 boy athlete of the year – Oscar Staples
In addition to these trophies certificates were available for all under 13, under 15 and under 17 athletes showing their various pbs for last summer – targets to beat for this coming summer. And the middle distance coaches had a few prizes to give out as well.
2020 training sessions are under way
Just a reminder that we re-started our regular Tuesday and Thursday evening training sessions last week.
Sussex Cross-Country Championships
The Sussex cross-country championships took place down in Little Common on January 4. Oliver Maranzaro and Wilbur Skipp took part in the under 13 boys race and both did well. Oliver will in fact have another 2 years in this age-group.
Sussex Indoor Championships – February 15 and 16
These championships take place over the weekend of February 15 and 16 at Sutton and entries can now be made.
What’s happening in the coming week ?
Tuesday 14 January – gym training at Imberhorne LOWER school from 7 to 8.
Thursday 16 January – training at Imberhorne UPPER school from 7 to 8.
Sunday 19 January – training for all at East Court from 10.30 to 11.45.
