I am aware of a couple of people associated with the club who have had the first jab in the Meridian Hall at East Court. Alf Smart for one and then John Gamble – for a number of years John audited our financial books. They are both in the over 80 groupings.
And did you see that we had a new indoor world record in the triple jump – and the first time anybody has gone over 18 metres indoors. Hugues Fabrice Zango from Burkina Faso jumped 18.07 metres. Have a look at the jump, and in particular look at his middle step phase. That middle phase is always the one that either lets you down or lets you up !
Will Jonathon Edwards’ outdoor record of 18.29 metres set 25 years ago be beaten later in the summer ?
