Primary Schools cross-country races
With the 2020 primary school races having to be cancelled because of the coronavirus it was great to see the primary school children back in cross-country action for the 2021 races at East Court. Numbers running in the years 5 and 6 races were inevitably a little lower than usual but the new races for year 4s went down well.
And it was another great day. The weather behaved itself – which always helps – as we got the course ready in the morning. And then during the afternoon the athletes for the four races began to arrive – with lots of parents (and grandparents) and teachers of course. And after the races the East Grinstead Lions seemed to have a more or less endless supply of candy floss.
Big thanks to our helpers – whether getting the course ready or marshalling at the races themselves – and a special thank you to Belinda Sims for organising the whole thing.
Training has re-started
A reminder that training has re-started. Thursday evenings at Imberhorne Upper School from 6.30 to 7.30. And this coming Sunday October 17 we will have our first session at East Court – from 10.30 to 11.30. And a reminder that East Court training is not just for those who like longer runs – sprinters will benefit from the hills at East Court.
