This and that news

Sussex County Cross-Country races

The first Sussex cross-country races took place last Saturday – down in Goodwood. The official results aren’t out as yet but we understand that Josh Hobbs was the first under 20 athlete to finish and the fourth overall (including the senior runners). Lower down the age-groups Oliver Maranzano had a good run and we believe he finished in the top 10 in his race. So very well done to both athletes.

When I see the full results I will either confirm or correct the above.

Sunday morning training at East Court has re-started

We had our first Sunday morning session at East Court this morning from 10.30 to 11.30. These sessions are not just for cross-country runners – the hills on the top field are excellent work for sprinters. We know that half-term is coming but the East Court sessions will continue without a break.

Thursday evening sessions under floodlights at Imberhorne Upper School

Some of our coaches are having to miss our Thursday session this week (October 21) and so we might be working in larger groups than normal.

In addition the track at Imberhorne Upper school is undergoing some repairs over the half-term week. We are hoping to use the Sports Hall or the gym at the school on Thursday October 28. We’ll let you know more in due course.
